Seed Earrings
Many of the things we love in nature come from seeds. That big tree that looms over your local park was once a tiny seed, unassuming and invisible to most.
It's now time to give seeds the attention they deserve. Seed earrings incorporate these small bulbs of wonder by encasing them in resin, using them as inspiration for engraved motifs, and much more.
Seed earrings can also be mistaken for seed bead earrings, which share a naturalistic essence. The former can be made from anything and is characterised by featuring one or more seeds in the design.
On the other hand, seed bead earrings use lots of tiny glass beads. If you want elements of both, you can add beads to your seed earrings to personalise them.
Look through our items at Camile & Stone; we have some gorgeous Daisy Flower Stud Earrings that match the naturalistic theme.

Drop earrings are one of the most popular styles of seed earrings due to their dainty, elongated design, which pairs perfectly with an ornamental seed.
What's more, seed drop earrings are very classy. You can showcase your love of nature without having to compromise on elegance. Have a fancy dinner party to go to? A pair of dandelion seed drop earrings in silver or gold is a great option.
Now that you have discovered the beauty of seed drop earrings, the temptation to never take them off can be strong. However, this will only cause problems if you're not careful.
You can absolutely wear drop or even seed dangle earrings everyday, but be sure to remove them before you go to bed. Otherwise, be prepared to wake up with one missing and the other damaged.
It's also important to remove them before you get them wet, including swimming and sweating caused by exercising. With materials like silver and diamond, harsh chemicals and unregulated environmental exposure cause them to tarnish faster.
Are you interested in making seed bead earrings? It's a brilliant way to create unique accessories and add personality to your look.
Fortunately, you don't need a lot of items to start. Here is what you'll need:
These are the basic supplies, but you'll also need tools such as tweezers and pliers to make things easier. Regarding the design, you can find inspiration online and follow patterns with corresponding instructions.
Seed bead jewellery is quite delicate, so it's important to take proper care when cleaning it.
First, create a soap solution with a few drops of mild dish soap and warm water. Get a soft cloth - preferably a lint-free one and dip it into the solution to then gently wipe the beads. If the beads are particularly dirty, use a soft bristle brush.
Remove all the soap by rinsing the jewellery under warm water without totally immersing it. Pat it dry and store it in a pouch or jewellery box when you're not wearing it.
If you have a pair of old earrings you'd like to upgrade to seed charm or another design you had in mind, here's how to do it.
The first method is to airdry the seeds for up to a week. Spread them out on a towel or cloth without the seeds touching one another. Store them in an area with plenty of ventilation and out of direct sunlight to prevent them from getting brittle.
If you don't have much time, another drying technique is to use an oven. Set your oven to the lowest temperature, and spread the seeds out in the same way as the previous method. Bake them for no more than 30 minutes, stirring them every 10 minutes.
Whichever strategy you use, you must check that they are completely dry before using them for jewellery.
