Initial Rings
Letter rings are a fantastic personalised gift. Camile & Stone loves to offer personalisation options, so we have a huge range of initial rings. The collection includes simple alphabet rings as well as signet and monogram rings.
We have pre-made initial rings but we also offer engraved initial rings. This means you can choose the font and style before we create the ring for you. This makes the jewellery even more personal for you or a loved one.
All our initial rings come in solid sterling silver and gold. We also now offer rose gold for a pink touch to your favourite pieces. And you can get styles, like our initial birthstone rings, with completely ethical gemstones.
Initial and nameplate rings have become popular recently, as have their counterparts in other jewellery types, like necklaces and bracelets. We offer a variety of styles so that you can enjoy this type of ring, no matter your jewellery preferences.

Rings with initials on them can be called many things. We usually refer to them as initial rings, but you may also see them called alphabet rings.
At Camile & Stone, we engrave designs onto your rings too. So, you might find initial rings called engraved name rings. We can add everything from a single letter to a name to your ring.
There are some special kinds of personalised name rings too. These can include monogram rings and signet rings. Nameplate signet rings sometimes include the family crest rather than your initial though.
Letter rings can be worn on any finger. You should choose the finger you want to wear your handmade piece on before you buy. This is so you can ensure the piece fits when it arrives.
For initial stackable rings, you might move the finger you wear it. This is because it might fit further up a stack on one finger and lower down on the other. Initial band rings are perfect if you want to stack rings.
If you're ordering custom name rings for a friend or relative, make sure you get their ring size first.
Nameplate bar rings are rings with a thin plate on them. The plate is then engraved with a name or initial. Some people might also opt for engravings like dates or locations. They are very similar to nameplate necklaces and bracelets.
Most nameplate rings are thin, but you can get much thicker styles. These styles might be referred to as signet rings. The bigger plate usually allows for the engraving of a family crest or a more stylised initial.
Initial signet rings have lots of meaning. Mostly, they are worn as part of a family tradition. You will often find members of prominent families have rings (especially if you're watching a historical drama). Wearing a signet ring is meant to be a nod to tradition and heritage.
Nowadays, signet rings aren't as popular, but some people still choose to wear them. You're unlikely to have inherited a signet ring, but you might choose to buy yourself one.
We offer signet ring styles and different options for font engravings. This means you can make a signet initial ring that really suits you.
Usually, people are 18 or 21 years old when they get a signet ring. It is usually a gift for 'coming of age.' However, since signet rings are much less in fashion now, you might find people get signet rings at all ages. Indeed, if you would like a signet ring yourself, you probably don't need to wait for a special occasion to get yourself one.
Modern signet rings could include your initial or a family crest. However, as they're often not handed down to families, you can certainly get more creative if you choose to gift yourself one. Why not consider a fingerprint-engraved ring?
The specific rule for signet rings is usually to wear it on your less-dominant hand on your little finger. However, as with all jewellery rules, we're always ready to ditch them.
Firstly, wearing a ring on your little finger can feel foreign to many people. So, if the signet ring feels better on a different finger, then don't feel constrained by these rules. Additionally, signet rings can be quite chunky, so you could opt for something completely different. How about wearing your signet ring around a chain on your neck? Our classic snake chain would be perfect for this.
Engraved name rings vary. So, it depends on the style you choose. Camile & Stone offers quite a wide variety of shapes and sizes, so you can usually find something that suits the engraving you want. We list as much information as possible in the product description, so you can find out what each ring can accommodate.
If you are still unsure then contact us via email. We're happy to help you out and find the engraved letter ring that suits you best.
On top of engravings, we also have letter rings that are shaped into the letter. These often have gemstones in them also. This means you don't need to worry about the space available for engravings.
Monogram rings are sometimes referred to as signet rings. For signet rings, you're supposed to wear them on your pinky. However, monogram rings might also refer to other kinds of letter rings. So, you can wear them on pretty much any finger or thumb you like.
While there are rules for some kinds of jewellery, we don't believe you really need to follow them. Monogram rings look great on any finger. You can also find thinner styles to stack them or even wear them on a necklace chain.
Personalised name rings are meant to be personal. So, wear them however you like!
