Sapphire Engagement Rings
Camile & Stone has a wide range of affordable sapphire engagement rings in our engagement ring collection. Sapphire is a common choice for engagement rings. People choose the stone if they want something colourful for their engagement ring.
However, blue sapphire isn't the only colour of sapphire you can find. In fact, there are many different colours of sapphire. And you'll be pleased to know that all can be used for engagement rings.
Camile & Stone only uses ethical gemstones. This includes everything from our diamonds to our sapphires. Ethical gemstones can be traced and don't do harm to the planet or the people mining them.
We offer our sapphire engagement rings in silver and gold. We also have rose gold styles as this metal is popular now too.

Sapphire gemstones are really popular in engagement rings. People often choose the famous blue sapphire for their engagement ring, but white and other coloured sapphires are also used sometimes. A princess-cut sapphire engagement ring looks fantastic.
Like moissanite, sapphire isn't that much softer than diamond. It comes in at a nine on the Mohs scale (diamond is a 10). So, it's unlikely to get damaged or scratched. This is another reason its often used as the centre stone in engagement rings.
Sapphire actually has lots of symbolism. It can represent:
Sapphire can also be a status symbol. Many famous people have been given sapphire engagement rings, including Kate Middleton. The sapphire gemstone surrounded by a halo of diamonds is a common dream ring for many.
Generally no. Sapphires are usually cheaper than diamonds. But there are some exceptions. Like if you merge the two for a sapphire and diamond engagement ring, you'll pay more than you would for one or the other.
Additionally, custom sapphire engagement rings will often cost more because they're designed just for you. A custom diamond ring would likely cost more, but a standard diamond ring might not.
Lastly, vintage sapphire engagement rings can often cost quite a lot. This is because of their history and the fact that sapphires are expensive stones!
You can usually find good vintage styles in shops, just like Camile & Stone. So if you like the look of vintage styles but can't afford the real thing, you could try a ring like our Ballerina Radiant sapphire ring. With its halo, the ring has a vintage feel you might like!
White gold sapphire engagement rings look so good because the silver of the metal enhances the blue of the stone. This is also why a sapphire centre stone with halo of diamonds looks so good. However, if you prefer gold or rose gold, you can find some great rings in those metals too.
Rose gold sapphire engagement rings give the ring a more modern twist. As a new trend in jewellery, rose gold has pinkish hues that could work well with blue sapphire. It would also work well with other colours of sapphire.
Yellow gold can also balance the blue of sapphire. If you wear more yellow gold, you might prefer your engagement ring to be this colour too.
Really vibrant blue stones are usually the most expensive sapphires. So if you want a blue sapphire ring, be prepared to pay a lot!
Other expensive sapphire colours are the really vibrant pink tones with a really deep colour. There is also a sapphire hue known as padparadscha. Padparadscha sapphires are peachy tones and are incredibly rare. They're actually the rarest kind of sapphire. This means they're, obviously, the most expensive.
Remember that when you pair sapphires with other stones, like diamonds, it will increase the price of your perfect engagement ring.
Yes, you can, sapphire is very durable. Sapphire ranks at 9 on the Mohs scale which is, yes, slightly lower than diamonds. However, this is still a very hard stone. This means its not easily damaged and you probably won't see scratches.
Of course, you should still take care of your sapphire engagement ring!
Never wear it to shower or bathe and definitely don't go swimming in it. Also, try not to sleep in it lest you cause accidental damage or lose it. If you can, get it cleaned (or clean it yourself) regularly too. Lastly, keep it in a safe place, like a box or pouch when you're not wearing it.
Below are some of the things to know before you get a sapphire engagement ring.
Blue sapphire engagement rings are the most known but are not the only colours. Other colours include:
On top of this rainbow of colours, there are two other interesting sapphies. First, the star sapphire. This is a really unique type of the stone. it shows a star shaped reflection and is caused by needle-like inclusions of another mineral called rutile. This is a very sought-after sapphire.
Lastly, red coloured sapphires are actually known as rubies! They're the same mineral but we know red to be the ruby stone instead.
