Helix Earrings
Are you looking for helix earrings in Australia? Camile & Stone has a huge collection of helix earrings to suit all kinds of personal styles. Body jewellery is often worn every day, which means you need to find jewellery pieces that suit you and that you will want to wear each day. Our collection includes everything from gold and silver helix earrings to diamond and gemstone helix earrings.
As with any of the earrings you find at Camile & Stone, we can absolutely guarantee their quality. We've sought out premium material from around the world to ensure you can enjoy these pieces for life. For example, our gold helix earrings are made with 14K gold vermeil or solid gold, and our diamond helix earrings are made using only ethically sourced stones.
Helix jewellery is often slightly different to the earrings you wear in your lobes, so shopping with a reputable seller, like Camile & Stone, is always best. For more information on helix earrings from Camile & Stone, you can find answers in our FAQs at the bottom of the page.

Helix cartilage earrings are earrings specifically designed for the piercings you have in the upper cartilage of your ear. There are a few different kinds of piercings in this part of the ear, including the helix, the forward helix, and more specialist piercings, like industrial piercings.
Due to the healing time and sensitive nature of helix piercings, it is always best to choose high quality jewellery for this part of the ear. Many piercers will pierce the hole with titanium jewellery, but other suitable metals include solid gold, white gold, and rose gold.
It is important to note that helix earrings are often slightly larger than lobe jewellery, as the gauge for the earring post tends to be thicker.
Yes and no. If you want to wear an actual earring with a post in your helix, then you're going to need a helix piercing. However, as this is a painful piercing with a long healing time, many people opt not to get the helix piercing. Instead, you can find earcuffs.
Ear cuffs, like the ones we stock at Camile & Stone, grip the helix and mimic the look of a helix piercing with a helix hoop earring. Another option for a helix-piercing look is to find magnetic or clip-on styles for this part of the ear.
These styles are great for those who don't want to undergo a piercing or for people whose ears cannot withstand a helix piercing due to their size.
Helix barbell earrings are almost always suitable for your helix piercing. There are a few different kinds of barbells when it comes to body jewellery, including curved and straight barbells. In most cases, a barbell helix earring can work for your piercing.
However, due to the nature of body piercings, it is always best to check with your piercer about changing the piercing. When you initially get your helix pierced, it can take a long time for the piercing to settle. You'll need to wait out swelling and even downsize the bar before it is ready for changing. Check with your piercer if you want to swap your original earring for a barbell, and even have them do the change if you're unsure.
A flat-back stud is often used for the first piercing. This is because it is much easier to heal the piercing with a stud. The stud will be made with a metal like titanium or gold to ensure no irritation occurs, too. While some people may like the look of a helix hoop, most piercers won't do the initial piercing with a hoop, as healing is more difficult and can be complicated by how much a hoop moves through the hole.
After your helix is healed, you can pick the kind of earring you wear. A hoop can look really nice in the helix and is very common for this kind of piercing. On the other hand, some people choose to stick with a simple stud, like a cubic zirconia embellished bar or a gold stud with a moon design.
While it can seem like you can only find helix earrings for women, men can actually have helix piercings too. In fact, the helix is a popular piercing for men. At Camile & Stone, we also offer helix earrings for men in our collection.
As with women, men must have space in their ears for a helix piercing to be able to wear the earrings, but provided they have this space, helix piercings can look great on men.
Men tend to opt for more simple designs, like plain gold studs, plain hoops, or understated gemstones like blue topaz or opal. You might also be able to find black metal hoops, which offer a very masculine look for your helix piercings.
There are different stages to a helix piercing, so in the initial stages, helix stud earrings are the most suitable. Most piercers will not pierce your ear with a hoop because hoops move around a lot. Movement in the early stages of a piercing can add to the irritation, and the curvature of the hoop may lead to a misaligned piercing hole.
Once your helix piercing has healed, your piercer will likely be happy for you to switch to helix hoop earrings.
While you might think your piercing hole has healed completely, we would always recommend going to see a piercer before switching to a hoop. Not doing so may mean you switch your jewellery before the hole is ready, which may lead to you having to go back to a stud anyway.
Most piercers offer free jewellery changes too, so if you're unsure, go and see them!
Helix cuff earrings are a fantastic helix jewellery alternative for people who don't have a helix piercing. Cuffs sit on the helix (and the lobe if you want!) and mimic the look of a real helix piercing without having to go through the whole needle thing!
Helix cuffs can come in many styles and some people choose to wear multiple in one ear to mimic multiple piercings.
For those with strict uniform regulations at work or school, ear cuffs also provide an opportunity for you to express your personal style in your own time while still adhering to uniform regulations at work or school.
Helix earrings are often flat-back studs, which most people don't wear in their lobes. Most often, people wear pushback or butterfly back studs in their lobe piercings. While these earrings work in your lobe, they can catch in your hair and be uncomfortable in your helix piercing.
In addition, depending on where you get your helix pierced, you might find that the gauge of your lobe jewellery is too thin for your helix. If you choose to wear this jewellery in your helix, you might have trouble getting other earrings through the hole after acclimating to the thinner earrings.
Suitable helix earrings include seamless rings, flat-back studs, and barbells. Speak with a piercer about other kinds of jewellery before making the switch just to be safe.
