Hypoallergenic Earrings
Hypoallergenic earrings are meant to ensure you have the least chance of reacting to your jewellery. We want everyone to be able to wear our styles. Camile & Stone offers lots of hypoallergenic styles, including hoops and drops.
Our earrings aren’t any less high quality though. Being suited for sensitive ears won’t make them less quality earrings. With our hypoallergenic styles, you can expect the same quality and good price. Our selection covers many styles and colours too.
You can find out more about the hypoallergenic earrings we have in stock below.
Hypoallergenic in earrings means that they're the least likely to cause a reaction in our customer's ears. It means they’re made with pure metals. Common metals include solid gold and titanium earrings.
If you're one of loyal Camile & Stone's customers, you'll know we only use the best. So we use sterling silver, solid gold, and gold vermeil in our earrings. This means we already create with hypoallergenic metals to keep your ears reaction-free!
Nickel-free earrings are made from jewellery metal with no nickel in it. Nickel is a really common allergy so lots of people prefer jewellery that doesn't have nickel in it. Niclkel-free labels are sometimes confused to mean hypoallergenic but they're not actually the same thing.
When you read nickel-free, all you know is that the metal doesn't contain any nickel. Jewellery metals very often contain nickel, so if you have sensitive ears, you might want to avoid it. Hypoallergenic earrings should be nickel-free but always look for the label anyway!
However, sterling silver and solid gold are most often categorised as not containing nickel either, so you can shop with us! Remember that if you've got specific questions about the materials we use, you can always email us and we can give you a definitive answer!
Allergy-free and hypoallergenic are confused all the time. The two labels don't mean the same thing. Hypoallergenic means your jewelry’s less likely to cause allergies. But allergy-free earrings don't contain any allergy-causing metals. So, it’s a bit different.
While these labels are similar, they're not the exact same. This is because you might be someone who can't wear sterling silver, so hypoallergenic earrings that are sterling silver won't be allergy-free for you. Remember if you have specific metal allergies just check what an earring is made from first!
Yes! At Camile & Stone, we have hypoallergenic hoop earrings along with many other styles. We also have hypoallergenic drop earrings and studs.
As all our earrings are made from sterling silver and solid gold (or gold vermeil!), they're all classed as hypoallergenic. So if you love these thin basic hoops or these butterfly huggie drops, then you know you can definitely wear them.
Some people with sensitive ears might prefer our hypoallergenic stud earrings because they're lighter in weight. While we always aim for light enough earrings to wear every day, if you've got sensitive ears, the lightest option is usually best. We have lovely diamond studs as well as pearl studs, all made with hypoallergenic metals.
Interestingly, hypoallergenic usually means it's less likely to turn your ears green. We use sterling silver and gold, which won't tarnish when properly cared for. Generally, the earrings that turn green contain copper, but with hypoallergenic, we need to limit the extra metals.
The only metals we use that might contain copper are our rose gold vermeil styles. However, with proper care and storage in our pouches, they won't turn your ears green or degrace.
Remember to try and clean your earrings often too to keep them in good condition.
