How to choose hair clips and claws?

One thing you definitely need to think about is when you want to wear the accessory. If you want to wear it every day, then go for a neutral colour.

Can I sleep with a hair clip in?

While you totally can sleep with a hair clip in, we don't suggest you do. For the most part, it'll just be really uncomfortable and you might have rubbish sleep because of it. You can also cause lots of damage to your hair because it pulls at the strands.

Another reason not to sleep with it in is that it could get damaged. You don't want to accidentally break your hair clip by sleeping in it. Last, you can also lose your clip if you sleep in it.

We suggest sleeping in other hair accessories, like sleep caps or something soft and protective like it.

How do I use a hair claw?

There's so many ways to use these exciting hair accessories. The most common way is to pull half your hair back in it. You could also twist two pieces back and clip them with smaller claw clips. You could pull more than two pieces back too and find those tiny tiny 90s-style claw clips.

A very popular style is to wear a ponytail and then clip it up with a claw. This creates a sort of spiky hairstyle and has its roots in the 90s and 00s. All these styles are making a bit of a comeback now, like hoop earrings too!

Is a hair claw okay for a formal event?
