Find out more about the men's and women's chain necklaces we offer below.
The answer actually varies.
For women's chain necklaces, cable chains and rope chains are usually popular. Cable chains are pretty popular now. This is because they can be worn solo and with a charm. Some people accessorise them with padlocks too. Rope chains on the other hand are more intricate. You can wear them with a pendant and on their own. They are twisted, like their ropey namesake.
Cable chains are popular for men's chain necklaces. But so are curb chains and Figaro chains. We also like more intricate styles, like herringbone chains, for men!
We wouldn't recommend it! As with all jewellery, the higher quality is always better. If you choose a cheap chain it could break easily. Additionally, it might turn your neck green!! This usually happens with mixed metals that include copper.
At Camile & Stone, we only use the best quality materials. This means solid gold and gold vermeil. We also use sterling silver. None of our pieces will turn your neck green, so don't worry. We're also committed to making jewellery that lasts you years.
The best chain length depends on lots of factors. Like, where do you want the chain to sit? Will you add a pendant or charms?
The best way to work out the best chain length is to measure your neck first. You don't want it too tight so it chokes you. Get a good sense of the length you want possibly by trying on other necklaces first! If you want a choker with a pendant, remember to factor that in before you buy!!
Yes, we’re all about customisation here so you can find custom chain necklaces with us. We love the idea that your jewellery is truly unique! So, whether it's gold chain necklaces or silver chains, we ensure that you can make it your own style.
Options for customisation with us include engravings. This can be letters and initials. It can also be dates and full names. Each product will have information on what can be engraved and options for fonts as well.
On top of this, you can add pendants and charms. Some chains lend themselves to multiple charms, and others don't. You might go for something simple like a birthstone charm. Alternatively, you might just like a plain chain in white gold for everyday wear.
Firstly, we'd say the best type of chain is up to you. This is because it should suit your unique style. So, you can choose a classic design like interlocking links or something more intricate. Just remember that wearing a fine chain might be risky in case it gets broken.
Next, consider the length of the chain. If you wear it with a pendant, it might be better longer, but you could also wear a shorter one.
Last, think about the material. Gold chains made from solid gold are sturdy and can be worn daily. So can silver chains. But if you've got cheap chains in your jewellery box they might not be good for daily wear. Cheaper materials might break so stick to sterling silver and gold chains where possible.
Remember that your chain will last longer if you clean it and use a soft cloth regularly.
Yes, definitely. we don't recommend ever sleeping in jewellery. Not only could a necklace hurt your neck during sleep, but you might damage the chain too. It could get caught and snap or you could lose it entirely.
Additionally, don't swim or bathe in your chain. While a good material, like gold chain necklaces, can survive water, some metals can't. Don't do unintentional damage by accidentally leaving it in water.
Chain necklaces for 2024 include lots of styles.
In honesty, there are specific chains that are popular. The style is all about layers. This means you could layer different styles of chains or even different thicknesses. You might also try different coloured metals.
You might also add pendants and necklaces, like this photo locket necklace, with plain chains to add depth and style to an outfit.
Remember that on top of plain chains, things like initial necklaces can also look good.
If you think about your pendants now, you'll see all of them have different chain styles. This is because different chains look better with different pendants. So, first think about the kind of pendant you have. If it's big, think about a thicker chain. For small and delicate charms, a finer chain might work.
Usually, we'd say you should match colours. Like a gold chain with gold charm, or silver with silver. However, it doesn't mean you can't change things up a bit. Rose gold and silver chains in particular can look great when done well.
Chain types can vary in strength because of the way the links lock together. Cabel chains and mariner chains always hold well. So do rope chains and Cuban chains. Also, the material that you use can impact the strength. If you use a hollow metal, it's more likely to break. Our sold gold chain necklaces are incredibly strong because they're solid.
Don't avoid wearing a chain just because it is slightly weaker. Just because the chain is delicate, it can still look great. Just make sure you're always being careful when wearing it.
